Out of the Ashes: 9/11
Daniel Trant was a professional basketball player in Ireland before he became a Wall Street bond trader for Cantor Fitzgerald. He was trading bonds in the North Tower of the World Trade Center when it was struck by American Airlines Flight 11. Trapped on the 104th floor, he called his wife to tell her that fire was everywhere, the smoke was unbearable, and he probably wasn't going to make it. Less than an hour later, the building collapsed, and 657 Cantor Fitzgerald employees died that day. Daniel's body was never found. Like many 9/11 victims, his final resting place is likely the Fresh Kills Landfill on Staten Island.
