Out of the Ashes: 9/11

Richard Gabrielle
Monica and Richard Gabrielle met while skating on a frozen duck pond on Long Island, New York. They were married in 1973 and had a daughter, Nicole, born in 1978. Richard Gabrielle eventually became a successful insurance broker for AON Corporation, located in the World Trade Center.
On 9/11, Richard was at work on the 102nd floor of South Tower. After the first plane hit, an announcement over the public address system said that the danger had been confined to the other tower. Believing it was safe to continue work, Richard and many other people returned to their desks. Fifteen minutes later, the second plane hit the South Tower. The tower collapsed while Richard was waiting for an elevator.
